The Artisan's Christmas Fair Sunday 2nd December

This time we are in a different venue for our fair. As a result we will have more space and a more prominent position by the A36. Along with more space we will have more stalls with a greater choice of vintage and handmade pieces. There will be gifts to suit all pockets which, unlike items on the high street, will be unique.

The Artisan Friends gathering together include:

Camelia with vintage linens, handmade lovelies, vintage objects, haberdashery & small decorative items. She now has a space in The Vintage Quarter, Wilton (within the Shopping Village complex).

Caroline with her handmade jewellery, using semi-precious stones & more recent quirky pieces. Caroline started beading 3 years. ago, when her Grandchildren were staying with her  and she needed to do something with them. Since then she has become interested in
semi-precious beads, and the ideas are humming in! She makes a great variety of jewellery to suit all types, and whilst making variations on a theme, will not repeat herself. Colour and texture are very important to her.
She will be selling at stall at the Godolphin Christmas Fair, Salisbury on 10th November
10th ( 10 a.m. -4 p.m).

John Gustard with his lovely collection of art http://www.johngustard.com/ He will be doing quick portraits in Conté Crayon... perfect for Christmas. We are hoping he will be able to run some more workshops with The Artisans in the future.

Sky Blue- Anne-Marie with her own design, Sky Blue, hand knitted and handmade items, incorporating vintage fabrics, as well as a selection of other vintage pieces.

John & Sue's delicious vintage inspired cakes & teas are available all day and they will bring their preserves and homemade produce. (Buttercup Cottage Farm, as seen on Facebook).

& many more stalls including a photographer, soap maker and a £1 stall.............something for all...........

If you are out for lunch with family or friends, in need of inspiration or just curious, you will be made most welcome.

The Artisans gathered for a late Autumn Fair on Sunday. Again, it was a sociable friendly affair with interesting goods to see and treat yourself to............. wonderful cakes!
I will post photographs when I have more time but just wanted to say thank you to all who came and helped make an enjoyable day.

The selected stallholders will be presenting vintage fashion, kitchenalia, gardenalia, vintage books, jewellery linens, quirky vintage decorative interior items, art, artisan goods and refreshments.

Happy Summer ..........The Artisan Late Summer Fair

Despite the rain Summer is here and we are taking a break over the summer months as we are all busy with holidays and new ventures............ whatever they may be. 

The next Artisan in the Autumn Fair will be on Sunday 16th September with the Artisans at Christmas fair being on 2nd December, both at Middle Woodford Village Hall.

Camelia with an eclectic mix of interesting handmade lovelies and decorative objects and Sky Blue with knitted items are both now selling at Beulah's Vintage Attic in Shipton Bellinger, Hampshire.

A sunny Mother's Day in The Woodford Valley at The Artisan's in Spring Fair

We had the Artisan's in the Spring Fair, our third fair and had a very sociable time with some returning visitors. The cold start did not deter early visitors with the bright spring sun soon lighting the valley. This fair we were joined by two new stall holders, Elaine with painted furniture and lovely objects for interiors and Tanya with button inspired brooches and rabbits and Imogen's lino cut greetings cards. Unfortunately I don't have any photographs I took of Tanya's stall and the cakes but will try to find one and include later. I have a brooch which I bought and will photograph and include later.

I was delighted with my finds and something very special to me which can be seen on Camelia's blog later.

Most importantly it was lovely to meet so many lovely people and we all have our stories. One delightful lady who bought a pretty initialled handkerchief, was educated in a former Suffragette founded school in Edinburgh and told me about the laundering and starching of the school uniforms and how the girls were educated in laundering. Another lady who bought a tablecloth talked about the pride she took in presenting linen at its best and removing stains, I can identify with this. I could go on, we have so much to learn from others.
Perhaps for me, the most memorable moment was when a lovely lady arrived with her elderly mother whose memory was fading. She was very caring and compassionate towards her mother who was very spirited. My husband commented that he was sure she could tell many a story.
I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's day.

A rest now and a few more sleeps to the Artisans fair in September. Have a good spring and summer from at the Artisans.

It promises to be an inspiring collection of books, handmade and vintage finds, small furniture, jewels & more. Cakes & tea are served all day from 11-4pm at the Woodford Village Hall, near Salisbury. The details on how to find us are on our previous blog.

Whatever you are doing for Mother's Day have a lovely one and fingers crossed the sun might shine.

Only nine more sleeps before The Artisans in the Spring Fair

Spring is upon us if today has anything to go by. A very warm day with a drying wind, a promise of the days to come. We are all busy getting ready for the fair (a few of us having the odd crisis whilst others are up together). Jane where are you............. I am the former! Cards and emails to send, cards & pressies to buy, parties to organise, oh, and then work!
However, weekends are bliss; a time to catch up with life..... & a few jobs that need to be done

The Artisans in Spring Fair

Today has been COLD a true Winters day. Just when our thoughts turn to Spring........... 

The Artisan's Spring Fair is to be held on Sunday 18th March 2012 at The Woodford Village Hall, Salisbury, Wiiltshire, SP4 6NG from 11-4pm.

When arranging the date of the Spring Fair we hadn't realised that it was Mothering Sunday but on reflection........ what better an excuse to have a browse of lovely things & tea party, with delicious cakes, with family, friends or new folks to meet.
We have all been busy making, baking & squiraling away our precious lovelies for all to enjoy.
